Dacia Moore

Dacia L. Moore, MA, LPC, NCC, is currently the Executive Director of GateWay of Hope, a faith based non-profit organization that works exclusively with women. The mission of GateWay of Hope is “to lead women to discover hope, pursue healing, and live in wholeness through counseling, coaching and support groups.” Dacia, also the President and Founder of Second Wind Counseling & Consulting, L.L.C., is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri and Texas, Life Coach, Motivational Speaker and Trainer. She has a Masters Degree in Counseling from Webster University and is a National Board Certified Counselor. Formerly, Dacia taught Master’s level courses at Webster University and Metropolitan Community Colleges. She has also served as a Board Member for the Kansas City Chapter of the American Counseling Association and the Missouri Counselors Association. Before starting her company, Dacia was Vice President of Programs at a residential facility. She provided training for staff, parents, and students on a variety of topics. Dacia has helped hundreds of men and women improve their lives by working with them through personal counseling using the Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy framework. Dacia has her advanced certification in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) from the Albert Ellis Institute in New York where she had the privilege and honor of studying under Dr. Albert Ellis, Ph.D. Dacia has been featured on WDAF TV- Fox 4 News, Weekly on AM 1590 KPRT – Mind Therapy Thursday, in the Kansas City Star Newspaper and is the recipient of the 2009 Women of Courage Award from Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., a 2007 Nominee for the Women Who Mean Business Award, 2009 Nominee for the KC Small Business Award, and is the author of the series, Why Are So Many Students So Angry?
